Summary: She's not a simple girl. Sam-centric drabble. No pairings.

	Simple

Simple isn't in her vocabulary.

Her clothes aren't simple - plaids and stripes and bold, bright colors, all clashing but still matching in the most coordinated un-coordinated way.

Her relationship with Carly isn't simple - they're total opposites, they need to work hard at staying friendly with each other when they disagree.

Her hair isn't simple - despite popular opinion, she wakes up bright and early and spends at least an hour getting the shiny blonde curls _just right_.

Her relationship with Freddie isn't simple - they hate each other with a fiery passion, but would do absolutely anything for each other, no matter what.

Her bedroom isn't simple - its walls are practically papered with posters and photos and drawings she did herself and none of the furniture matches.

Her relationship with Spencer isn't simple - he's surrogate father to all three of the kids, but she's the one he has the least reason to help; he _still does_.

Her love for food isn't even that simple - it's not like she got fed at home, so gorging herself whenever she got the chance became second nature.

Her relationship with Melanie isn't simple - they're disgusted by each other, and as much as Mel tries to fix her and make her a better person, it never works.

Her strength and bullying aren't even simple - Spencer has his art, Freddie has his techie stuff, and Carly has the webshow; being tough is all she's got.

Her relationship with her mom is_ far _from simple - their roles are reversed and hell, she can barely take care of herself, let alone a grown woman who drinks too much and dates a lot of losers and jerks.

She's not a simple girl, despite popular opinion. She has layers, like cake or onions or ogres or her mismatched clothes. But she clings to the appearance of _simple_, the image of the tough, always eating, doesn't give a shit Puckett.

It's all she's got.
